I walked around the bustling Palazzo della Signoria to view the Statue of David as well as other art and history from the 16th century. Breathtaking, it fully enveloped me in the vast artistic history and importance of this city.
I also visited Florence’s oldest bridge, Bridge Ponte Vecchio, which has connected the city since before the 14th century and was built for the Medici Family.
From the iconic skyline with the dramatic mountain peaks behind it and red-tiled roofs to the stunning Duomo, Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower or Florence Cathedral, this is a place you have to see to appreciate fully. I hope my photos help you feel like you’ve stepped right into the heart of the city!
If you’re planning a trip to Europe, don’t skip a stop in Italy—especially to explore Florence. Museums, architecture, and amazing food and wine are waiting for you here!
